XAMPP

Per alcuni può non essere semplicissimo installare un webserver Apache, specialmente se si vuole anche subito in funzione MySQL, Php e Perl. XAMPP è una distribuzione Apache facilissima da installare, per Linux, Windows, Mac OS X e Solaris contenente principalmente MySQL, Php e Perl, e nel dettaglio:

Per i sistemi Linux (testata su SuSE, RedHat, Mandrake e Debian) contiene: Apache, MySQL, PHP & PEAR, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, GD, Freetype2, libjpeg, libpng, gdbm, zlib, expat, Sablotron, libxml, Ming, Webalizer, pdf class, ncurses, mod_perl, FreeTDS, gettext, mcrypt, mhash, eAccelerator, SQLite e IMAP C-Client.

Per Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP e Vista Questa versione contiene: Apache, MySQL, PHP + PEAR, Perl, mod_php, mod_perl, mod_ssl, OpenSSL, phpMyAdmin, Webalizer, Mercury Mail Transport System per Win32 e NetWare Systems v3.32, JpGraph, FileZilla FTP Server, mcrypt, eAccelerator, SQLite, e WEB-DAV + mod_auth_mysql.

Per Mac OS X Apache, MySQL, PHP & PEAR, SQLite, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, GD, Freetype2, libjpeg, libpng, zlib, Ming, Webalizer, mod_perl, eAccelerator, phpSQLiteAdmin.

Per Solaris Apache, MySQL, PHP & PEAR, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, Freetype2, libjpeg, libpng, zlib, expat, Ming, Webalizer, pdf class.
